COMPANY ORGANIZATION (Unit Task And Responsibilities)

1.1.1.   Executive Manager

As a small business owner or CEO, you likely are the executive team. However, executives in other companies usually collaborate as a team. You typically meet weekly to discuss progress toward goals, necessary adjustments in strategy or executive and new opportunities to increase revenue or minimize costs. In addition, the executives in a public company have responsibility to meet with company boards to discuss ethical standards, corporate direction and finances.

There Is No Standardized List Of The Major Functions And Responsibilities Carried Out By Position Of Chief Executive Officer.

1.    Board Administration and Support
Supports operations and administration of Board by advising and informing Board members, interfacing between Board and staff, and supporting Board's evaluation of chief executive.

2.    Program, Product and Service Delivery
Oversees design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services.

3.    Financial, Tax, Risk and Facilities Management
Recommends yearly budget for Board approval and prudently manages organization's resources within those budget guidelines according to current laws and regulations.


1.1.2.   Human Resources

Maintains and enhances the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices.

  • Maintains a pay plan by conducting periodic pay surveys; scheduling and conducting job evaluations; preparing pay budgets; monitoring and scheduling individual pay actions; recommending, planning, and implementing pay structure revisions.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; scheduling management conferences with employees; hearing and resolving employee grievances; counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Ensures legal compliance by monitoring and implementing applicable human resource federal and state requirements; conducting investigations; maintaining records; representing the organization at hearings.



1.1.3.   Finance

The finance manager should manage funds in such a manner as to maximize return on investment while minimizing risk, and while also ensuring that an adequate control structure is in place over the transfer and investment of funds. Further, the finance manager engages in financial analysis in such areas as forecasting, budgeting, engaging in cost reduction analysis, and reviewing operational performance.

Develop an Annual Budget
  • Develop reporting for financial division, programs and/or operating units, as appropriate.
  • Require reporting for highly sensitive or high risk areas.


Develop Periodic Financial Reporting and Monitoring 
  • Should be reviewed at least quarterly (recommended monthly if possible)
  • Should include a summary of all funding sources, expenditures and reserves available for future use (excluding those already committed and budgeted for current period)
  • Should include all outstanding commitments to unit-wide programs, individuals or capital projects.
  • Provides management with information necessary to make strategic decisions at any time during the year.



1.1.4.   Logistic Operator
  • A Logistics Coordinator must be able to communicate effectively since the job primarily involves liaising with clients, couriers and other operational departments.
  • You must be able to organize personnel, and assist with training as required, whilst also organizing budgets and courier expenses.
  • A Logistics Coordinator must ensure that quality assurance checks are completed and maintained.
  • You may also be required to assist clients with product selection and pricing to improve transportation routes.
  • A Logistics Coordinator is especially responsible for monitoring deliveries, ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining accurate logs of all transportation and goods.
